Yes, it's a long title, but there is a lot to learn!
There has been much talk about putting together a series of meetings that will teach skills you will need once everything goes to hell and we don't have the modern conveniences of such things as, say, a general feeling of safety and the ability to obtain food.
Therefore, it is with great please I am announcing the first meeting in the apocalypse preparedness series!
On Thursday, October 13th, normal meeting place, normal meeting time, we will have a gun safety training course. Our instructor will be Chris Algozzine. In case you were wondering, this meeting is informational only. There will be no shooting going on in or around the church!
There will however, be a follow up meeting at Chris' gun club (time and date TBD), in which we will get hands on training.
Pease tell everyone you know about this special meeting. I think it would be a great way to bring in new people and give back to the community.
edit: official blurb on Chris:
Chris Algozzine, NYS DEC Hunter Safety Instructor, will be presenting a short introduction to firearms with an emphasis on firearms safety. This session is part of the course Chris teaches to new hunters, and is intended to help us understand how firearms work, how to handle them safely, some firearms etiquette (for if you ever go shooting with friends), and the basics so you're more prepared when the zombies eventually show up at your door.
So, if you want to satisfy your curiosity about firearms, or if you know enough to be dangerous and would prefer to be safe, come to this week's class, as Chris will be bringing several firearms for us to see, hold, and more importantly, learn about in a safe and educational setting.
