Question: The Official Way to Find out about Events.
Thor said that the calendar on this SW.org site is the final word. But there is also a calendar on the Meetup site. And a Facebook page, I think? But not a mailing list. Twitter and G+ too? Thor- can you confirm who has the final say on the calendar and where the best place to look is?

Best place to look is the calender on this site- it is definitely the final word.
The one on meetup.com should have all of the same information on it, and yes, that meants it is a duplicate, but meetup.com is a great way to get new members so we will continue to post what should be the exact same information on that site as well.
We do have a facebook page, again, to get new members, but I stopped posting the events on there a few months back and the message on facebook now points people to sw.o and meetup for event information.
