I would like to reduce the business talk to one meeting a week. My official proposal is this:
- For the next couple weeks, business will be conducted at the usual Thursday meeting. Since Pat is kind enough to allow us the use of the church, we will meet at 1st Presbyterian in Wappingers.
- Starting in June we will change to a 6pm to 8pm meeting on Tuesdays, also at the church. Business talk should be 15min or less, so I would suggest that we all bring projects in whatever form and be prepared to do things, or to be nosy about what others are doing, or to simply socialize with others who are doing things.
- In the interest of keeping the business discussion to a minimum at the meetings, any question which needs to be answered or decision which needs to be made should be posted here first and discussed as much as necessary. Anybody interested in helping to steer our direction should actively follow the discussions here.
Is that good for everybody? Now is your chance to share your opinion. I would also like to point out that I strongly encourage people meeting at other times to work on or discuss more specific projects. Business should just be the tedium we need to keep rolling, so the more things we do the better.

I suspect this counts as "voting twice", but I'll say that I'm very much for MORE DOING.
A group that gets together and talks about cool things they've seen (and goes no further) is no better than a group that gets together to discuss what they watched on tv. Braincells congregate and die, nothing is learned, and all you've managed to manufacture is dead time.
This is not to say that I'm against social gathering. Humans don't ~have~ to be busy every second of their lives.
If our purpose is to fill in gaps in one another's knowledge, or to inspire creation and invention, then we must not waste time divining how to consider the notion of perhaps someday beginning... The time to begin is now. Researching, Discussing, Trying, Doing.
