Making changes to the forum

I'm currently trying to add some requested functionality to the forums. If anything you're trying to do doesn't work, let me know; I may not be aware that I've broken it.

If there's anything you'd like the forums to do that they don't already, also let me know. Please be clear on which is which! I'm easily confused. (-:

I think the bulk of what I was going for is done now. The things that I definitely know still need to be fixed are:

 

  1. The colors in the editor for a new post should be black on white, not gray on black
  2. The theme seems to be mildly broken for me with some text showing behind the respective buttons and some buttons not showing up at all

The email notification is currently subscribe-per-thread and completely-untested. I'm subscribing to this thread, so the latter shouldn't be true for long. Any email users here think I should try to set up email notifications for all forum posts?

  1. The theme seems to have improved with the last update.
  2. I've taken some steps to alleviate the spam problem we've had lately. Please let me know if you notice anything a) fishy or b) broken.
  3. Forum posts are now appearing on the front page. How do you feel about that? It's really easy to fix, I think, but I want your opinions first.
  4. Has anyone else tried to subscribe to a forum post, yet?
  5. If you [would like to] use email for notifications, would you like to be able to subscribe to all new forum posts as well or is subscribing to individual threads sufficient?
