Does anyone here have any experiance with using a heat gun to desolder components? I gave it a try this weekend on some boards out of a defunct DishNetwork DVR and even at the 1000watt setting, the solder ignored the heat and remained solid. The board itself (about 8-9 inches long) got hot enough that I coudn't hold it.
