I was checking out some of the stuff in Warehouse Outlet the other day and got some decent ideas for my BaT0 project. I was wondering, though: Would it be in the spirit of the rules to get an extra component to disassemble and inspect before the build? I kind of think that as long as I start from a new-in-box version on build day that it would. What do you guys think?
Also: Feel free to continue any discussion about BaT0 specifics/questions in this thread.
I was hoping to do the same. But then again... I'm not looking to "win", I'm just hoping to finish something that works. ;)
Taking a peek, brainstorming and testing a component to see if it might be usable for your ideas is a long way away from showing up with the thing already fully planned out and built. Considering the source of parts is 30 minutes away finding out there is nothing you can do with a part because they epoxied over EVERYTHING or something stupid like that wouldn't be much fun.
In my opinion buying one, tearing it apart and inspecting it, then bringing a second one that you don't open until the event is underway should be fine. Not like anyone could "catch" you anyway. ;)
As long as you don't build it all out then memorize and just repeat at the event then I don't see the problem.
