DESCRIPTION:After a month off\, we're returning to Vassar for the sixth installment of \n ADD. As usual\, we encourage all skill levels to share their experience\, get \n help\, or generally cause an Android ruckus. There are some mumblings about \n iOS development\, too\, so bring your ammunition for the impending flame war!\n \n A few topics that are likely to be discussed are:\n \n * AI/Strategy Algorithms\n * Computer Vision\n * Audio Synthesizers\n * RESTful interfaces\n * Coffee\n * World Domination\n * Cash and Prizes\n \n  \n \n One of those may be a trick but it's really hard to tell. The only way to \n know for sure is to show up. If you bring a friend\, they can corroborate any \n observations you make.\n \n  \n \n (In other words: Show up. Bring a friend.)\n \n You can RSVP at the meetup event here [1].\n \n  \n \n \n [1] http://www.meetup.com/squidwrench/events/68161312/

DESCRIPTION:We have an excellent opportunity to get into the space at Creekside Plaza on \n Rt 376 in Poughkeepsie - 1821 Rt 376 (near the Bookworm before you get to \n Dutchess County Airport headed southbound). See the photo album \n at http://squidwrench.org/photos/spaces [1]\n \n It's over 3000 sq feet about evenly divided between office space and open \n space for a shop. It has some definite water issues that will need to be \n addressed and/or worked around\, but that is the reason that we have the \n opportunity to get into the space. The landowner is asking us to get \n non-profit status in order to occupy the space so that they can make some \n form of tax deduction for letting us use the space.\n \n \n \n \n [1] http://squidwrench.org/photos/spaces

DTEND:20130203T160000Z

DESCRIPTION:When the zombie/robot/ninja/everything apocalypse happens\, how will you \n survive? Learn valuable skills by attending our apocalypse series meetups!\n \n In this two week event\, we will learn how to make and bottle beer with Jack \n Chastain\, a homebrewing officianado. We will be making an Irish red that will \n be ready for consumption by St. Patrick's day. Everyone attending will be \n able to take home bottles of beer after the second week's meeting. The \n details are as follows:\n \n First meeting - Brewing\n Date: Sunday\, Feburary 3rd\n Time: 10am-2pm\n Place: Jack Chastain's house\n \n Second meeting - Bottling - and maybe brewing #2?\n Date: Sunday\, Feburary 10th\n Time: 10am-12pm (or more)\n Place: Jack Chastain's house\n \n FAQ:\n \n 1) What should I bring with me?\n * Warmish clothes. We will not (necessarily) be "outside" - I have a\n (moderately) heated garage we will use\, doors closed. It should be\n warm(er) than outside. Chairs will exist and there may even be snacks\n and drinks. both and cold. Bring anything you like\, but don't feel\n obligated.\n \n 2) Is there a cost for this event?\n * There is some cost involved in order to obtain the brewing materials.\n A $5-$10 donation would be appreciated. Cost to the participants will\n cover the brew supplies purchased for it - so you will "own" your own\n beer here. At the end of the bottling day\, you will take home a\n quantity of beer that is an even distribution among all the\n participants. We will talk about further brewing and discuss costs.\n \n 3) What if I can't make one of the meetings?\n * You have to be in it to win it - those doing the work\, get the beer.\n We may be making a second batch on the bottling day (which would\n require an additional bottling meeting). Stay tuned.\n \n 4) Do I have to know anything abut zymurgy? Do I have to know what zymurgy\n is\, or how to pronounce it?\n * That's the main point of this meetup - no experience needed\, only a\n desire to learn to make some of the best beer you have ever had.\n \n \n  \n \n For the location of this event RSVP on Meetup [1] or email Thor [2]\n \n \n [1] http://www.meetup.com/squidwrench/events/101370222/\n [2] mailto:sean.swehla@gmail.com?subject=Apocalypse%20Series%20-%20Homebrewing%201&amp\;body=I&#039\;m%20interested%20in%20the%20homebrewing%20event.%20Can%20you%20tell%20me%20where%20it%20is%3F

Working on a project? Bring it. Is your project too big to \n bring? Take pictures and come talk about it. Looking for ideas or \n collaborators for your next project? Come on out\, you'll probably find some \n here.\n \n Think I used too many questions marks in this description? Come yell at me in \n person1.\n \n We meet every Tuesday night at 7pm and hang out and tinker until we're tired \n or get kicked out. Makers and hackers of all types are welcomed\, so if you're \n uncertain just stop in and say hi.\n \n 1And if you think the question marks are bad\, wait 'til I get started with \n the exclamation points!

DESCRIPTION:This is our first Android Development Day to be hosted at Studio 81. At the \n study group\, we've been discussing the idea of engaging in a larger-scale\, \n shared project to give us a shared goal. This is your chance to get in on the \n ground floor and help guide the project\, or just go home with an opportunity \n to contribute. This will most likely be a game of some sort\, so if you're not \n into code but are interested in contributing artwork or other design effort\, \n be sure to come out and get involved.\n \n We'll have internet access\, seating\, and music\, as usual. This time\, you will \n be able to walk out the front door and try any of the several options for \n delicious nourishment. Here's your chance to show some love for the town that \n is our new home\, so grab your laptop and your android device and head over to \n Studio 81.

DESCRIPTION:In the world of open-source\, Inkscape (http://inkscape.org/ [1]) is a \n popular tool for creating scalable high quality graphics. Graphic designers \n use it to create scalable\, print-ready images. Would-be engineers use it as a \n part of their CAD/CAM setup for controlling various CNC machines like the \n Eggbot (http://egg-bot.com/ [2]).\n \n In this workshop\, we'll cover the basics of what vector art is\, where \n Inkscape fits in\, and many of the tools you'll need to finish your projects \n in Inkscape. We are trying to schedule a trip over to Brainstorm Laserworks\, \n so that you'll be able to use your new found knowledge to create a design \n which you can then cut or etch on the 40W Epilog laser they have.\n \n NOTE: While there is no official fee for this workshop\, we do suggest a $30 \n donation. All proceeds will go to support Squidwrench in the new space at \n Studio 81 and hopefully to help build up some funds toward future projects. \n Once we schedule a trip to Brainstorm\, we will suggest a donation for that as \n well. A portion of that will go directly to Brainstorm as a thank you for \n hosting us and generally being supportive.\n \n \n [1] http://inkscape.org/\n [2] http://egg-bot.com/
